Summit Sports & Recreation Park
The Summit Sports and Recreation Park is a $23m multi-sport facility located in the regional South Australian town of Mount Barker in the Adelaide Hills region. Opened in 2021, stage 1 of the regional sports hub features a main grass field with a 250-seat grandstand, function room and an estimated capacity of 2000 with a grass hill on the other side of the field. It also features four change rooms and 350 lux lighting allowing for night matches and there are also two synthetic rectangular pitches. The main sports oval caters for Australian football and cricket and also includes a similar grandstand with undercover seating and a grass hill surrounding the ground with a capacity of around 5000.
In 2008, Mount Barker District Council purchased 36 hectares of land fronting Springs and Bald Hills Roads, of which the Summit Sport and Recreation Park occupies around 50% of, with the balance earmarked for future recreational use, including an additional oval, two rectangular pitches and tennis courts.
