Wyndham Stadium Precinct
The Western Melbourne Group plan to deliver Victoria's first sports and recreation driven suburb. Located in Tarneit and well connected via road and rail infrastructure, the two key elements of this new development are the Wyndham City Stadium and the Wyndham City Elite Training Facility.
Wyndham City Stadium
As the centrepiece of the development, this state of the art 15,000 seat stadium will be a purpose-built soccer stadium and entertainment venue. It will serve as the future home of the Western United A-League club. Wyndham City Stadium was initially due to open in time for the 2021/22 A-League season but has been delayed. Early site works started in October 2021, however construction of the stadium is yet to commence.
Elite & Community Training Facility
The Wyndham Regional Football Facility will be built adjacent to the proposed stadium, featuring three rectangular pitches – two grass and one synthetic – with grandstand seating and a 5000 capacity. The facility will be jointly funded and developed by Wyndham City and the Western Melbourne Group, and Western United will share the facilities with the broader Wyndham community.
The main grass pitch will serve as the main training base for Western United’s A-League team, and a training and match day venue for the club's W-League and academy teams. A second grass pitch, and a third synthetic pitch will primarily be for community use, building on the club’s connection with the footballers and broader community of the west. Construction commenced in March 2022 and is due for completion in May 2023.
5+ Elite Sports Arenas
It's planned the precinct will eventually have five or more elite sports arenas, including an indoor arena adjacent to the main stadium. It'll also feature 1000+ residential dwellings and 15+ commercial buildings.
