Wyndham City Stadium
Wyndham City Stadium is a proposed 15,000-seat purpose-built football stadium which will be built in Tarneit - west of Melbourne. The venue will be the future home of A-League expansion side, Western United FC, who joined the competition in 2019/20. The club has played its home games at various venues including GMHBA Stadium in Geelong, Mars Stadium in Ballarat, and now AAMI Park in Melbourne.
Located 30km from Melbourne's CBD, the facility which was initially estimated to cost $180 million will be privately-funded and feature a single level of seating surrounding all four sides of the pitch. Fans will be close to the action, including behind the goals, and the grandstands will be some of the steepest in Australia.
To be built by Probuild, the new facility will also feature training pitches, sports medicine facilities, a gymnasium, recovery facilities, sporting spaces for the community to enjoy, with residential and commercial development also planned for the surrounding area to fund the stadium.
Situated next to the proposed stadium, will be the Wyndham City Elite Training Facility, which will feature three fields including a main pitch and grandstand seating for 5,000. It is expected this will be built ahead of the main stadium.
As of March 2023, construction of the stadium is yet to commence.
