Bankwest Stadium is a 30,000-capacity rectangular stadium located in Parramatta, a western suburb of Sydney. Built on the site of the old Parramatta Stadium, the venue was known by its non-commercial name of Western Sydney Stadium during its construction phase and officially opened in April 2019.
The $300 million stadium boasts the steepest stands of any stadium of its type in Australia, bringing fans closer to the action. The roof covers all seats and it features 3,000 premium seats and 54 corporate suites on the western side.
The new stadium is home of the Parramatta Eels in the NRL and Western Sydney Wanderers in the A-League, playing host to Rugby League, Union and Football. The Wests Tigers and NSW Waratahs are also set to play some home games at the venue. The venue features four change rooms, two large video screens, LED floodlighting and all the amenities expected of a world-class venue such as extensive Wi-Fi coverage.
Bankwest secured the initial naming-rights to the new stadium, with the venue to be known as Bankwest Stadium for at least the next seven years. The stadium is operated by VenuesLive.
