Rocky Stadium

Proposed Venue

Rocky Stadium is a proposed new rectangular football stadium to be built in Rockhampton, Queensland. The new stadium will be built adjacent to the existing Rocky Sports Club at Victoria Park, on Graeme Acton Way next to the Fitzroy River (view map). With a permanent seating capacity of 8,500, the provision of temporary seating will allow its capacity to be boosted to 16,000 for larger events. The design ensures all fans are close to the action with uninterrupted views from every seat. The rear of the main undercover grandstand will have a light-filled concourse able to accommodate functions for up to 650 guests.

$23 million in federal government funding was announced on September 14, 2020, essentially giving the stadium the go-ahead. Once construction commences, the build time is expected to be around 12 months.
