2023 NRL Fixture released with 35+ stadiums to host games

The fixture has been revealed for the 2023 NRL season, with games to be played at more than 35 different stadiums, while Adelaide Oval will host the Origin opener.

Season 2023 sees games played in more key stadiums than ever across Australia and New Zealand along with marquee matches at suburban venues such as 4 Pines Park, PointsBet Stadium, Leichhardt Oval, BlueBet Stadium and Campbelltown Stadium.

With Australia and New Zealand hosting the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup, some regular NRL stadiums are unavailable for up to 57 days during the season, meaning fixtures have been moved elsewhere.

AAMI Park is unavailable for 57 days, Accor Stadium 52 days, while Allianz Stadium and Suncorp Stadium are both unavailable for 48 days. Also unavailable for periods of time are Jubilee Stadium, Leichhardt Oval, Campbelltown Stadium and Central Coast Stadium.

The Brisbane Broncos will play three home games at the Gabba, while two of Melbourne Storm’s home games are currently listed as TBC, with those likely to be played at either Marvel Stadium or the MCG. The Roosters will also go back and play a home game at the SCG.

The season gets underway on March 3, with the Parramatta Eels hosting the Melbourne Storm at CommBank Stadium. The Dolphins will play their inaugural home game on Sunday, against the Roosters at Suncorp Stadium.

Magic Round will be held in round 10, with a Queensland team highlighting each day of the three-day event at Suncorp Stadium.

NRL action returns to Perth, with Optus Stadium to host a double header on August 5, with the Dolphins v Knights and the Rabbitohs v Sharks, while Darwin’s TIO Stadium will host the Eels and Broncos in round 8.

A number of regional venues will again host matches during the 2023 season, with games to be played in Tamworth, Mudgee, Bathurst, Coffs Harbour, Wagga Wagga, Cairns, Sunshine Coast, Bundaberg.

The 2023 NRL Grand Final will be played on Sunday, October 1 at Sydney’s Accor Stadium.

The NRL also announced the dates and locations for the 2023 State of Origin Series. Game One will be played at Adelaide Oval on May 31, with Game Two at Suncorp Stadium on June 21 and Game Three at Accor Stadium on July 12. Next year will see the return of three Wednesday State of Origins for the first time since 2017.

An official Pre-Season Challenge will be held for the first time, featuring all 17 NRL clubs and Super League Champions St Helens Saints in 18 matches across two weeks. View the full NRL Trial fixture here.
