The A-League Men competition kicks-off on Friday

A bold new era of the A-League kicks-off Friday at AAMI Park and as always, you can keep up with all the football action on Austadiums.

Officially rebranded as the Isuzu UTE A-League Men, and the W-League now known as A-League Women, both competitions sit under the ‘A-Leagues’ banner and are operated by the Australian Premier Leagues (APL) – a separate entity away from Football Australia.

There is also a new broadcast partner, with matches to be shown on Channel 10 and streaming service Paramount+ in Australia, meaning matches will no longer be broadcast on Foxtel and Kayo. More info on how to watch the A-Leagues below.

Reigning champions Melbourne City host Brisbane Roar in the season-opener at AAMI Park on Friday night. Covid restrictions have eased in Melbourne to allow 50% capacity, meaning up to 15,000 spectators can attend the Melbourne venue.

It’s a triple-header on Saturday with the Sydney derby at CommBank Stadium between the Wanderers and Sky Blues kicking-off at 7:45pm. With no capacity restrictions in place in NSW, a big crowd is expected at the western Sydney stadium, and the match will also be shown live on Channel 10’s primary channel. Also kicking off at the same time is Western United v Melbourne Victory at GMHBA Stadium in Geelong.

Perth Glory, featuring big-name recruit Daniel Sturridge, then host Adelaide United at HBF Park at 10:05pm AEDT (7:05pm local time). Round one wraps up on Sunday with Newcastle Jets v Central Coast Mariners at McDonald Jones Stadium and Macarthur FC v Wellington Phoenix at Campbelltown Stadium.
