The MCG will host the T20 World Cup Final

Australia hosts the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2022 in October-November, with matches to be played at seven iconic cricket stadiums.

The tournament was initially set to be staged in Australia in 2020, but was postponed due to Covid. Following Dubai, the 2022 edition now returns to Australia. 

The T20 World Cup features 16 teams, with 45 matches to be played across seven stadiums in seven host cities: Adelaide, Brisbane, Canberra, Geelong, Hobart, Melbourne, Perth and Sydney.

The T20 World Cup Final will be played at the iconic MCG (Melbourne Cricket Ground) on Sunday, November 13.

Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG)

Built in 1853, the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) is the largest stadium in the Southern Hemisphere and 10th biggest in the world boasting a capacity of over 100,000 people. It’s a stadium rich in history and the scene of some of Australian sports most memorable moments. Outside of Lord's, the MCG is the only other stadium around the world to host the ICC Cricket World Cup Final more than once (1992 and 2015). The MCG will come to life when it hosts the ICC Men's T20 World Cup for the first time from Monday 22 October - Sunday 13 November. Melbourne will host four Super 12 matches featuring Australia, India, Pakistan, England, New Zealand and Afghanistan, as well as the Final on 13 November.

Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG)

Steeped in sporting history, the Sydney Cricket Ground has been providing a wealth of entertainment for over 150 years. The SCG was established on the former 1852 Garrison Ground behind Victoria Barracks, Paddington, by the NSW Cricket Association. Today, the SCG is highly revered as one of the premier cricket venues in the world, hosting the annual New Year Test, One-Day Internationals and is the home ground of the Sydney Sixers in the BBL. The SCG will come to life when it hosts the ICC Men's T20 World Cup for the first time from Saturday 22 October - Wednesday 9 November. Sydney will host six Super 12 matches featuring Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Bangladesh India, Pakistan and England, as well as a Semi-Final.

Adelaide Oval

A truly iconic venue rich in history & heritage. The Adelaide Oval will come to life when it hosts the ICC Men's T20 World Cup for the first time from Wednesday 2 November - Thursday 10 November. Adelaide will host Super 12 matches featuring India, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Pakistan and Bangladesh as well as a massive Semi-Final.

Perth Stadium (Optus Stadium)

With views of the picturesque Swan River and Perth city in the west and the foothills in the east, this 60,000-seat, world-class, multi-purpose stadium hosts a variety of sports and entertainment events including International and Big Bash League cricket, Australian Football League, soccer, rugby union and concerts. Perth Stadium will come to life when it hosts the ICC Men's T20 World Cup for the first time from Saturday 22 October - Sunday 30 October. Melbourne will host five Super 12 matches featuring Australia, India, Pakistan, England, South Africa and Afghanistan.

The Gabba, Brisbane

The Gabba has been the home of cricket in Queensland since 1896 and is well known throughout the cricketing world for hosting all forms of international cricket. World-renowned for its hard, fast and bouncy pitches, the Gabba is perfect for T20 cricket! The Gabba will come to life when it hosts the ICC Men's T20 World Cup for the first time from Sunday 30 October - Tuesday 1 November. Brisbane will host Super 12 matches featuring Australia, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, England, New Zealand across 3 huge days of T20 cricket.

Bellerive Oval (Blundstone Arena)

Bellerive Oval first hosted formal cricket matches in 1914, but it wasn’t until 1987 that Cricket Tasmania made the venue their permanent home. The oval has been upgraded significantly over the years with the Ricky Ponting Stand opening in 2015 for the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup, boosting ground capacity to 20,000. Bellerive Oval will come to life when it hosts the ICC Men's T20 World Cup for the first time from Monday 17 October - Monday 24 October. Hobart will host 6 Opening Round and 3 Super 12 matches featuring Bangladesh, Ireland, Scotland, South Africa, West Indies, Zimbabwe across 3 huge days of T20 cricket.

Kardinia Park (GMHBA Stadium)

Kardinia Park Stadium is one of Australia's most impressive regional stadiums, with a recent redevelopment of the venue helping it evolve into one of Australia’s leading venues and a first-class cricket facility. In recent years, Kardinia Park has hosted the Big Bash League, international T20 matches, Soccer and Rugby Union. Kardinia Park will come to life when it hosts the ICC Men's T20 World Cup for the first time from Sunday 16 October - Thursday 20 October. Geelong will host six First Round matches featuring the Sri Lanka, Namibia, Netherlands and the UAE.
