Suncorp Stadium
Suncorp Stadium, traditionally known as Lang Park and non-commercially as Brisbane Stadium, is the home of Rugby League in Queensland. A major $280 million redevelopment of the stadium was completed in June 2003 to convert it into a state-of-the-art all-seater stadium. The two year project saw the stadium closed for the duration with all but the main grandstand demolished, which was incorporated into the new design. Suncorp Stadium is one of Australia's leading rectangular stadiums, if not the world, and it plays host to many major events each year.
Prior to the redevelopment, Lang Park had a capacity of just over 40,000, which included two main grandstands on either side and terracing at each end. Following redevelopment, the stadium now includes 52,500 seats across three levels, of which 75% are covered to the drip line of the stadium roof. All three of Brisbane's major rectangular sporting teams call Suncorp home - Brisbane Broncos (NRL), Queensland Reds (Super Rugby) and the Brisbane Roar (A-League). The venue also plays host to State of Origin and International Rugby League matches, Rugby Union Internationals, Football Internationals and major Concerts. The venue hosted matches for the 2015 Asian Cup and 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup, during these events it was known as Brisbane Stadium.
