QEII Park (NZ)

Closed/Former Venue

QEII Park was originally built for the 1974 Commonwealth Games and had a capacity of 34,000. It was scaled back to a capacity of around 20,000, but has now been demolished due to damage sustained in the Christchurch earthquake. It was a multi-purpose venue primarily used for Athletics and Football. The stadium contained a main grandstand with additional seating on either side of it, with limited spectator facilities on the other half of the arena.
