Hunter Sports Centre
The Hunter Sports Centre is an athletics facility in the Hunter region, within the Lake Macquarie City Council. The sports centre features Olympic-standard facilities including an IAAF-standard 9-lane athletics track with 10-lane straight, in-field which is capable of hosting football matches and there are also lights for night time events. There is grandstand seating for 450 spectators and additional undercover standing room, with a grass hill surrounding the track and a total capacity of around 5,000. Located adjacent to the track is an indoor gymnastics centre with 2448-square-metres of floor space. The facility regularly hosts state and national athletics events, as well as school, regional and zone carnivals.
