Hordern Pavilion
The Hordern Pavilion is an entertainment venue located in Moore Park in Sydney. Opened in 1924, the iconic venue was redeveloped in 1972 and again in 1999. While mostly used for concerts and similar events, The Horden is often used for sports events such as championship boxing, with the likes of former World Champion Jeff Fenech fighting at the venue. Its maximum capacity for concerts is 5,500 while for sport with floor seating it is estimated at around 3,500.
The Hordern’s historic facade disguises a versatile venue packed with potential. Millions of people have been through it’s doors – to dance, to sing, to dine and even do business. Live music, film premieres, gala dinners, product launches such as the Rolling Stone re-launch, award nights such as the NRL's Dally M’s and Astra Awards as well as exhibitions like Life InStyle and One Fine Baby. In 1925, the first covered tennis courts in Australia were constructed inside the venue, where it then hosted the Australian Indoor Tennis Championships between 1973 and 1982.
