Joe Ciavola Velodrome
The Joe Ciavola Velodrome (also known as the State Cycling Centre) was built for the 2006 Melbourne Commonwealth Games. The 250m indoor velodrome is part of the Darebin International Sports Centre (DISC) which also includes the State Soccer Centre and State Lawn Bowls Centre.
The velodrome was built on the former site of the Northcote Velodrome. The new venue is Victoria's first permanent indoor cycling track (while Melbourne Arena is Victoria's premier track, it isn't a full-time cycling venue). Victoria's premier annual cycling events will be shared between the two venues. The 500-seat centre served as a training facility for the 2006 Commonwealth Games.
