Little remains of the Sydney Football Stadium, with demolition of the 45,000-seat Moore Park venue reaching its final stages.

Works to bulldoze the 30-year-old stadium, known by its commercial name as Allianz Stadium, commenced just three months ago and are now well advanced.

The roof of the Eastern Grandstand came down on March 28 and now just one half of the stand remains, along with sections of the lower bowl.

In its place, will be a brand-new 40,000-seat stadium, due to open in 2022. It'll be built at a cost of $729 million and feature world-class facilities and a roof covering all seats.

In the meantime, tenant clubs Sydney Roosters, NSW Waratahs & Sydney FC are playing their games at various grounds around Sydney including the SCG next door, Jubilee Stadium and the new Bankwest Stadium.

Below: The Daily Telegraph published aerial photos revealing the extent of Allianz Stadium’s $730 million rebuild.
