The Manly-Warringah Sea Eagles have unveiled ambitious plans for a new 23,000-seat stadium to replace the existing run-down Brookvale Oval.

Sea Eagles chairman Scott Penn has declared the NRL club should resist the urge to relocate to Allianz Stadium, and build a new world-class sporting venue at the existing Brookvale site on Sydney’s northern beaches within the next 10 years.

"Clearly we have to go through a community consolation process, because we are in a residential area. But we are very confident we have the plan that will get this across the line.” Penn said at the season launch last Thursday.

"We are sick of talking about it, we want action, we want to make it happen.

"Most importantly we are working on a plan that doesn't cost taxpayers a cent."

The development of the ground is a key element in the club’s blueprint for success over the next decade.

The stadium would seat 23,000 fans and feature all the modern facilities and technology of a world-class stadium. The roofs on each wing feature the design of Sea Eagle wings.

It would involve developing land on Pittwater Rd for commercial and residential use. The artist impression of the new stadium show two residential and commercial towers 20 storeys high on Pittwater Rd.

Discussions have been ongoing with the Warringah Council who are the owners of the venue.

The current facility is in desperate need of a makeover. It has been the home of the Sea Eagles since 1947 and features three grandstands and two grass hills with a capacity of just over 20,000.
