New LED lighting makes Suncorp Stadium shine

Suncorp Stadium’s has received a major LED lighting system upgrade to further enhance the rectangular stadium.

The new system incorporates 500 multi-coloured RGB lights which provides a boost to the fan experience including the two recent NRL Preliminary Finals and the NRL Grand Final on Sunday.

Installed by Norman Disney & Young, the lighting experience can be timed to music and in synchronisation with the venue’s existing video screens, theatrical lighting and perimeter signage.

Coloured lighting can illuminate the stadium’s roof, while LED field lighting can project patterns onto the playing surface and instantly turn on and off.

The upgrade will provide the Suncorp Stadium with greater capability to join in with other Brisbane landmarks when the city is lit up in certain colours to promote or support significant community projects and events.

The system upgrade was launched recently with a ceremony and display of the functional capabilities of the new lights, while it’ll be on show to a world-wide audience on Sunday night during the 2021 NRL Grand Final.
