Sydney secures 2024 NRL Grand Final
The NRL Grand Final will once again be held at Sydney’s Accor Stadium in 2024, on Sunday, 6 October.
The NSW Government and Australian Rugby League Commission (ARLC) reached a one-year agreement to keep the major event day in Sydney.
The NSW Government and ARLC has provided certainty to rugby league fans across the nation, with the Grand Final to remain in New South Wales, the birthplace of the NRL.
ARLC Commission Chair Peter V’landys said, “Confirming the 2024 Grand Final will be held in Sydney provides certainty to NRL clubs, sponsors and broadcasters — but most importantly of all, it’s exciting news for NRL fans.
“The NRL and NRLW premiership seasons will culminate at Accor Stadium on 6 October — and we can’t wait to watch it unfold.”
The event is set to once again draw more than 80,000 spectators to Accor Stadium at Sydney Olympic Park. Last year’s season finale was attended by sold-out crowd of 81,947.
The NRL made history on the weekend by kicking-off their 2024 season in Las Vegas, where a crowd of 40,746 attended Allegiant Stadium for the season opening double-header.
The 2024 season is expected to deliver more excitement and entertainment than ever before, with the Penrith Panthers vying for the first four-peat in the NRL era, and the first since the legendary St. George Dragons team of the 1950’s and 60’s.
Accor Stadium will see its first NRL action for the year on March 29 when the South Sydney Rabbitohs host the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs there in the annual Good Friday match.
The venue will also host the opening game of the 2024 State of Origin Series between NSW and Queensland.
