Australian Equine & Livestock Events Centre
The Australian Equine and Livestock Events Centre (AELEC) is an equestrian sport venue located in the regional NSW town of Tamworth. Opened in 2008, the complex is a multipurpose livestock centre - the biggest of its kind in the southern hemisphere. The main indoor arena has seating for 3,360 spectators and is 40 x 80 metres. Additional seating is planned for up to 1,500 more on the mezzanine level in Stage 2. There is also an adjoining sale centre with theatre-style seating for 660 and standing room for 400. Other facilities include an outdoor arena, 478 stables and an educational and training building. As well as equestrian events, the centre also hosts concerts.
