This is too funny...
------------------------------
Four days since it blocked its first punt the crying over the center-hung video board at Cowboys Stadium roars on.
The NFL's competition committee held a conference call Tuesday afternoon and offered its recommendations on what should be done about the board to commissioner Roger Goodell, who does have the authority to make a ruling, which may come before the second preseason game Saturday against San Francisco.
The Cowboys still don't want to move it. Jerry Jones told 105.3-FM in Dallas Tuesday morning that a number of things have to be considered, including the optimal height for viewing the screen.
"It’s no new deal for kickers to adjust to the conditions that they play in," Jones said. "To offset that is the fact that we’ve got generally speaking a great place to kick the ball. And both teams have the same issue, so you don’t have a competitive advantage there."
Wade Phillips was more concerned about preparing his football team for the season on Tuesday than discussing what the commissioner's ruling will be. He did say Thursday's open practice at the stadium will provide an opportunity for punt returners to learn to judge balls coming down from those heights.
"We want to get used to the stadium," the coach said. "The board is different because it’s up there, you have to see the ball go through, and the lights and so forth. It’s good for us to practice there. We have to get used to the field. Each field is different. You want to be comfortable in your home field."
