The way they rope off the ground for BBL games, I can't see this being a problem at all.walhawk wrote:fF they square off the ends, but left the wings as is (lower deck can come in and out), could they not still play cricket there?
Would be similar to WACA. Perfect size for BB.

Re: Telstra Stadium to become ANZ Stadium
Another appalling surface at ANZ for Swans vs. Richmond, with some clown fixturing the AFL less than 48 hours after NRL.
ANZ need to give the grass on the wings some time to set when AFL and rectangular sports play on the same weekend. Either
1. play the AFL fixture before the rectangular fixture, or
2. if the AFL match is played 2nd, then the retractable stands need to be set back for the entire weekend

3. Don't play AFL at ANZ Stadium. Keep it at the SCG where the fans want it

vs Hawthorn: 34,506
vs Collingwood: 32,347
vs Richmond: 31,227
That's a pretty sh*t set of numbers. These aren't event crowds any more - the Swans' average at the SCG this year is 32,558. They might as well give it up.

Re: Telstra Stadium to become ANZ Stadium
Yeah but the contract expires in 2016, and Eddie McGuire will want ANZ Stadium as an AFL venue for a long time to come. So I see no change sadly, either that or cut the matches down to 2 a year at ANZ.dibo wrote:Winner.panfas wrote:or..skippy wrote:Another appalling surface at ANZ for Swans vs. Richmond, with some clown fixturing the AFL less than 48 hours after NRL.

4. Nuke ANZ Stadium from orbit, it's the only way to be sure.panfas wrote:or..skippy wrote:Another appalling surface at ANZ for Swans vs. Richmond, with some clown fixturing the AFL less than 48 hours after NRL.

Hold on a second. This installation has a substantial dollar value attached to it.yob wrote:4. Looks like approx half the capacity of the SCG has rocked up to SOZ for the Swans final.
Sad, because the SCG actually looks pretty spunky when it's full.

35,998! They could have that at the SCG and there's room to swing more than one cat.

I was there, disappointed about the crowd, but boy did the crowd made it sound like 60,000 people were there.

Re: Telstra Stadium to become ANZ Stadium
Could have been worse to be honest. It's the second lowest SOZ finals crowd in history, but it trounces the 19k v North Melbourne a few years back.
SCG farken. It looks fantastic in a sea of red.
