Clive is just angry at the way FFA run the game. It is obvious he is bnot used to being told No. some of his ideas have shown a complete cluelessness regarding building a team as part of the community and FFA were obviously right to tell him No. This is how he reacts to being denmnied, epic dummy spit. Imagine how bad it will be if his LNP don't win the QLD State election? Australia's first privately funded coup? GCU are here to stay. Palmer ejoys getting up in the griill of idiots like Buckley and will probably continue to derive enjjoyment out of it for years to come. I fel sorry for the GCU fans(all 10 of them!) Who is going to want to come ouit and watxh them play and make an emotional investment inthe team with this clown in charge? And to think, things were looking up for GU at the start of the season, crowds were up significantly on last years dreadful low.

I'm not sure if I mentioned this, but a few weeks ago I noticed that Santo breezingly mentioned that "he's a Chelsea man", but I distinctly remember an episode of The Panel (back in about 2001-2002) when Santo interviewed the Gallagher Brothers. He mentioned that they were City fans but he stated that he is a Manchester United fan - to which Noel and/or Liam replied, "Typical United fan - 10,000 miles away" etc.

If Plan B is rush in a Western Sydney team next year, it is unlikely to succeed. New licencee? Run GCU from head office?

Agree it would be a dreadful idea to rush in a 2nd Sydney club. Trying to unify the groups that make up the Football Heartland (TM) makes bringing stability to the Federal Caucus look easy. If you're going to make an attempt, you need tonnes of credibility. And that means taking time, spouting all sorts of comforting words to the old clubs, pulling together a decent coaching team and recruiting a non-sh*t football team. Who has the time and patience to do that? The AFL does, but we're all about short term solutions in Aus Futbol.

Ideal situation is that there's someone capable of taking over the GC licence and resurrecting that club - I've forgotten what happened to the GC Galaxy bid people but if they haven't lost their paper fortunes in the GFC then I'd be praying they could step up.

Western Sydney being talked about in today's Daily Telegraph for 2013/14, which is one year earlier than planned. The older billionaire is confident of ten teams next year. The younger billionaire wants to litigate, although the precedent of Souths v NRL is against him.

Lithgow FC = Rebel scum

I can't see this playing out well for Palmer (or anyone else who sides with him) because the AFC and FIFA are already lining up with the FFA. Individual players would be screwed because a rebel player wouldn't be picked for Socceroos selection, when we're about to hit the fun part of WC qualification.

On a silver lining, at least we're able to generate headlines when the NRL season is underway. Suck it h8rs

As many commentators have pointed out, the young billionaire's legitimate greivances about th game are being overshadowed by this nonsense. Hardly good for the game. Although, I don't know that the old billionaire is handling things well in public. hasn't been the best media performer.
