It's actually footballs - round and oval footballs. I only noticed it leaving the ground on Friday night.yob wrote:The moo cow spot design is going to end up like early 90s fashion. Later generations will laugh at it for looking stupid, and we'll reply we damn well knew at the time it looked stupid.

Was in Newcastle at the weekend and drove past EAS. The new grandstand is finally underway and out of the ground. Overall it was at the height of about the temp broadcast boxes. Didn't get any photos, but expect will get to see more during the NRL season as Ch9 and Fox start to point their cameras at it.

Won't they be pointing their cameras *from* it for the most part?Scott wrote:Was in Newcastle at the weekend and drove past EAS. The new grandstand is finally underway and out of the ground. Interesting that there is scaffolding at the corner (north west?) the stand doesn't wrap around at all does it?
Or perhaps they're doing some foundational stuff for the WC (surely the NSW Govt isn't planning for the future.

the west stand does go arround the corners on the north and south. Just the lower bowl though.

Re: The Western Grandstand at EnergyAustralia Stadium
Does that mean they are adding more to the corners than what has already been done?

Are they going to level the playing field? You can really notice the huge (drainage?) slope with the new corners being quite high from the front row.

any ground used for the WC will be required to be flat so if Newcastle was to be used the knights and jets will have a brilliant pitch. If a little too narrow for WC.
