Re: SANFL 2013
The Norwood bandwagon must be on again if they're pulling nearly 5k against WWT.

Re: SANFL 2013
Thanking you. I like the tradition the SANFL have. As opposed to the rampant commercialism of the Bombers v Magpies duopoly the AFL have created. I look forward to it returning to Adelaide Oval, adjacent the Anzac Day March completion point ASAP:)

Re: SANFL 2013
The league average is 3535 at this stage. That's pretty good, but there's the usual drop off in the wet and wild months.
Having some of the lesser likes invest in their facilities, for example poor drawing Westies installing lights at Richmond, has helped the averages from the bottom up.
The view from afar though, having cleared my head of the 25 years of Adelaide psyche, is the SANFL is going sideways and suffers from chronic under investment. It's a great league, but could be so much more.
A few questions:
Are Elizabeth night games now off the agenda? Centrals not going to make any further investment to get the lights up to standard?
Sturt home games at the Parade. Hopefully not going to relocate? Yes it's a better ground than Unley, but the home ground tribalism is what footy's all about!
Glenelg - doing many night games at the Bay?
Why are Centrals crap this year? Gowans boys been put away?

Re: SANFL 2013
Gowans boys have finally retired.
Nothing wrong with the lights at Elizabeth, other supporters just bitch about it because its Elizabeth. The light towers have more individual emitters than the models at Glenelg, Richmond and Noarlunga. Glenelg's would have to be the most underpowered, Richmond's are just enough to do the job as are Noarlunga's.
Norwood has been a staple of Friday night footy because of the proximity to the city, so they get a great deal more action. Everyone else usually has their games within the first third of the season. As for Sturt, they're in some serious financial s--t, so night footy more often may be the answer and Norwood is the best bet.

I'm disturbed about the sort of people that would frequent Noarlunga at night.yob wrote:Oh and since when have there been night games at Noarlunga? Lights any good?

Re: SANFL 2013
It's a pity they don't end the season with a bang and schedule night matches in the last few rounds, when the worst of winter has passed. But I guess they're leaving the door open, as the fixture on the SANFL website has matches scheduled at midnight in the last few rounds. Or maybe they're going for night night footy.
