Looks pretty similar. More cash and contra but the Nein/Fox Sports split remains the same as does most of the programming set up. Thoughts from the mungoes?
It's a pity the NRL couldn't persuade Nine to let Fox Sports simulcast the Friday night games. The insistence on the delayed broadcast of the Sunday arvo game is archaic. The A-League has a better broadcast package for pay TV subscribers (absolutely everything live).
I'd guess that Fox weren't prepared to pay as much as what Nine wanted to concede.
You're right though, it is archaic. People just don't accept delayed sport anymore. Bugger me, in a few hours I can watch Kent v Yorkshire live in the whogivesafuq cup from England, and after I can watch Braga v Udinese live (or if I want, Malaga v Panathinaikos is on another channel, also live).

Yeah they do - they just won't pay for it.
Your average FTA viewer though... they revel in delayed telecasts. They live to sit through half an hour of better homes and gardens waiting for the event they don't want to discuss on the internet, or bet on. And when the result is decided they need 3 seconds to look at the ladder - no need to know who they're playing next week, nor who their other competitor for the last finals position is playing. This information needs to be drip fed at opportune moments in next week's delayed broadcast. They need to be manipulated.
Just read that 7 did a Kerry Packer & deliberately bid high for NRL so that 9 would pay high price. 9 will lose heaps of money. Now 7 are ready to swoop for cricket!
