I didn't even bother looking at the score first time round. Belted North by 12 goals. What is going on there.

Re: SANFL 2010
That 6000 is a great crowd at Richmond Oval. I would have definitely walked to the game had I still lived in Millswood.
Shows the success of Friday Night football in bringing fans to the game.
Not a bad crowd in Noarlunga either, the only venue I didn't manage to see a SANFL game last year.

Am wondering how many of the 5,031 at Elizabeth were Port supporters coming out with renewed passion.

They got 5,794 to the same fixture in 2008, so I'd say approximately 0.nobleoz wrote:Am wondering how many of the 5,031 at Elizabeth were Port supporters coming out with renewed passion.

I was at the Elizabeth match and I really thought there was more like 6000 there.

Sturt 11.13-79 @ Prospect
3,394
Eagles 17.13-115 Defeated

West 12.8-80 @ Richmond

That's the second week in a row that Westies have drawn the highest crowd. And they even beat a night match at the Parade. What is going on there.

Re: SANFL 2010
All of those crowds are up.
Norwood lost by 5 points LOL
I was at a cracker of a match there last year when Centrals beat Norwood basically on the final siren.

Re: SANFL 2010
Looking at the crowds so far, the only sub 3,000 has been a South home game - and even that drew okay for Noarlunga.
Crowds are up 3% on this time last year. Typically the ultimate factor in SANFL crowds is the Adelaide winter, but West's crowds may have an impact simply because the lights at Richmond have turned perennial low drawing games in to potential blockbusters. I'd love to see what a Westies / Port night match at Richmond would draw over say 3 or 4 games.
Without having been in Adelaide for a while, I'm not 100% sure but I think the list of SANFL venues equipped for night footy is now:
Norwood/Parade
Westies/Richmond
Central/Lizbf
Glenelg/The Bay ??? Saw plans for this, don't know if they're up.
WWT/Thebbie ???
Adelaide Oval

Re: SANFL 2010
The night games that were planned for Thebarton were cancelled as the planned revamp of the lighting system has been postponed by the SAAFL. The Elizabeth lights have only been used for one match, which was the R1 match and the only one programmed for 2010.
AFAIK, the proposed Glenelg lighting system is still not yet approved and Adelaide Oval is still off-limits for anything but cricket until the current redevelopment is complete.

I remember singing to the Norwood cheer group after the siren "Always look on the bright side of life. Doo-doo, doo-doo doo-doo doo-doo..."
But then came Round 23.

Re: SANFL 2010
That will dent the crowds.
In other news, I may finally break my SANFL duck this year. I'm set to visit Adelaide with the missus becase she wants to see the pandas. We've booked for June 19-21.
Port v Norwood
Wests v WWT
Centrals v North
Glenelg v Sturt
I'm leaning towards West Adelaide becuase lately they've needed the support and it seems like a bit of a derby. Hopefully my ball and chain can agree to shop in the city for a couple of hours without my holding the bags.
