North Melbourne to f**k it up in Ballarat now.
Wht sort of piece of sh*t stadium is $25m going to get you? The rushton park redevelopment isn't much less than that, and it's barely going to seat 1000 by the end of it.
It's a bloody good question. Stadiums seem to cost more than commercial/industrial buildings of an equivalent size paid for by the private sector.

What was most interesting was the 12 million regional events grant.

Can see the Heart or the Victory utilising that next season to take games to the country.

Richmond president, Gary March, makes same point about Carlton's profit as Cheesie. Nice to have that old Blues v Tigers rivalry back

Looks like the AFL Players Union is pushing for pensions to help the meatheads cope with being paid what they're worth after football.

Brisbane Lions post an operating loss of close to $2.5 Million, although only $260,000 of that was "Football Operations" the rest was spent on fighting legal battles over their new logo and paying out departing staff members and opening a new club house this weekend at Springwood (no one is quite sure why they are opening at Springwood (19 km's from the Gabba) except that Logan is full of people who love Pokie machines).

Brisbane Lions loss is big, but understandable.

Geelong's profit announced as $1,284,509 - almost double 2009! Membership of 40,655 - can't squeeze all those into Kardinia Park

I'm pretty tired of hearing separation pay expressed as a one off, to make the operating result look better. It's not a one off. Paying off coaches, assistants and players is part of the operating expenses of a football club on a recurring basis.

Presuming labour loses the Vic election - I guess the Ballarat oval project will not go ahead?

Gotta love it when a 15 year bashing campaign produces results!
