I saw the Wembley arch quite clearly from Heathrow in January - about 10kms south and on ground level. It really is a massive feature to replace the twin towers.

Also saw Upton Park, The Valley, Highbury, Twickenham, Brentford's ground (can't remember its name) from the plane as it was doing circuits over London.

Brentford's ground is Griffin Park. Home of the London Broncos RLFC.

In the mid 80's, Griffin Park featured in the Guinness Book of Records for having the largest advertising sign in the world. On the roof of the main stand was a massive Fly KLM (also Brentford's club sponsor of the time) hoarding which covered the entire roof. Being on the Heathrow flightpath meant that this upward facing sign was never missed.
