New Yankee Stadium

Post by Scott »

Off to the U.S. next month, and have tickets for Yankees vs Oakland on 20 April. Will take some photos of the new stadium for the forum.

Great stuff! Don't be shy either. If you visit other venues get the camera out.

 I'll be lucky. The family are happy to attend a baseball game but have rejected my idea to visit the Sports Arena while in LA, which I'd timed to be the night Springsteen plays there!!!

ive been looking at the online seat selector...its quite cool, its a good way to get an impression of the stadium supprisingly it holds less seats than the origional Stadium old stadium was 56,886 it is now 52,325 (Including Standing Room) but has alot more boxes etc in that mix so they will gross more money from less seats ultimatly.

Saw all about it on BBCAmerica last night. Seems it was paid for out of taxes - & the Yankees get all the income! Love the group called the "Bleacher Creatures"......much like Collingwood supporters

I watched this on CNN the other day...

Second most expensive stadium ever...

$2150 for a seat in the front row.

George Steinbrenner once went to the Diamondbacks and saw their swimming pool and wanted one for NY. He went to San Diego and saw the beach. Recently he went to Tampa Bay and saw the Ray tank..

If a stadium has nothing more than seats it is merely a frothy milkshake without a straw.
