multiplex
does the multiplex construction company have any other projects on the go at the moment???
i ask because theres a clause in the new wembley contract that states they have to pay a fine of £120,000 a DAY for every day they are over the march 31st deadline..thats ontop of the £100 million they are going to lose on the construction costs...
could this bankrupt multiplex??

Re: multiplex
Were going to build Perths Indoor Stadium, have a huge monopoly on construction in Western Australia, including the Raffles hotel apartment complex that is currently being constructed.britishspud wrote:does the multiplex construction company have any other projects on the go at the moment???

No their share price will drop, but they are a fairly big construction company...just were beset with problems by Wembley...
Would be fantastic if the new Wembley is finished and Bolton make the FA Cup Final, win the first final at Wembley, and win the first FA Cup Final at the New Wembley.

Nah, it won't bankrupt them....too big. Probably won't even affect their share price. They are actually up about 3% in the last month, most of that this week. The market long ago factored Wembley into the price. The big hit was in the first half of last year when Multiplex weren't totally upfront wth the market and got caned for it, losing 50%.

Looks like the Charity Shield will be the first event at the Wembley National Stadium.

FA blows whistle on Multiplex for final
February 21, 2006 - 10:23AM
An Australian property developer has stuffed up the English football final.
The English Football Association will transfer the FA Cup Final from Wembley Stadium to its reserve venue of Millennium Dome in Cardiff, the Multiplex Group announced today.
Multiplex said it was disappointed with the decision and it continues to work towards completing its reconstruction of Wembley National Stadium at the earliest possible date.
"We understand that the FA has made this decision on the basis that it requires 100 per cent certainty that the venue will be fully functional by May 13, 2006, the scheduled date for the 2006 FA Cup Final," Multiplex said in a statement.
Last month a senior Multiplex manager gave the group a 70 per cent chance of completing the stadium - the spiritual home of English football - in time for the FA Cup final.
Multiplex, which announces its half-year results later this week, has previously provided a wide range of scenarios regarding the losses from its Wembley project - including one that sees the group's 2005/06 full year profit being wiped out.

I hope it is ready for the Rugby League Challenge Cup Final.

When did they move that white elephant from south east London, and is it an appropriate venue for football...Jeffles wrote:Looks like the Charity Shield will be the first event at the Wembley National Stadium.
