Unlike most of the other suburban VFL grounds, this ground was fenced off so I had to take pictures from the outside

Re: Pictures of the Junction Oval
It may have been a bit of a novelty to see a sh*t team play footy near the beach, then get on the gear at a night club. Much like watching Glenelg in the SANFL. But St Kilda made the right strategic decision to leave and try to establish as a burbs club. Problem being the burbs keep spreading, so off they go again to Frankston. I think once they reach Sale that's when things are really dire, for Sale.

I'll probably get shouted down by the cricket purists but with a little tlc, this should become the permanent home of the Bushrangers.
In fact, I'd like to see them spread the Sheffield Shield load around the state... after all they do represent Victoria.

Not happening because of Napthine pumping $18 billion into East-Waste link so that the Junction Oval can be demolished because of no funds available for redevelopment.

Looks like the AFL and Cricket Victoria are brokering a deal to send St Kilda back to the Junction Oval.

Deal done.

But St Kilda FC will be over the road at another ground.
What's amazing is the AFL will contribute twice the $5 million it contributed to Adelaide Oval to host 1 million spectators per year. Tally that - $525 million worth of rent extracted from SA, $10 million so a sh*t Victorian AFL club gets a 3rd home ground, another $515 million of plunder to go.

Re: Pictures of the Junction Oval
Two things:
1. So close to removing cricket from the Melbourne Cricket Ground entirely now
2. There are professional football clubs of all codes all over the world that would love to be able to drop $250k on some lights, for training. I know the membership of Old Melburnians are traditionally not struggling, but is the $250k just from them, or is it part of the £10m?
