Confirmation of Collingwood FC moving in to the old Olympic Park site.
Looks like they secured funding from the Federal Government in return for the 'CFC Community Centre', that provides changing rooms for Tan runners etc.
Gonna be a fantastic facility, pretty much confirming that the whole precinct is going to be the best in the world.
Athletics will keep complaining, but that facility in South Melbourne is fantastic and gives the VIS a new home, together with swimming at MSAC.
Melbourne FC will be the only loser. If they don't get that facility at the old V/Line site in Docklands (big chance they won't), they will still have to share AAMI Park and that sub-par training park with Victory/Storm.
Once Collingwood go to Olympic Park, they will have to move to Gosch's Paddock...not a great result.
Collingwood announced that they would redevelop Olympic park late last year and Melbourne have been using storm/victorys training ground and also gosch's paddock when c/wood were not training on it. I bet Melb are kicking themselves now about knocking back that offer that was put to them to move to olympic park in the late 90's.
