Didn't see this mentoned on TV or in any media posts. Suppose that's what happens when nothing is changed. MA Noble to become R Benaud would have been a fitting reward

Churchill/Brewongle Stand replacement seems the obvious opportunity for a new name such as Benaud. Churchill/Benaud stand with Brewongle returning to the name of a tea room!

Never previously given a moments thought to what/who Brewongle is/was. Interesting.

Something I have noticed with the new northern end. The ground has been noticeably extended. Secondly - the new white fence is about 1m lower than the current surface. They must be going to completely level the surface post the AFL season? I don't recall seeing this on the architectural drawings, but probably missed this detail.

That's interesting. They are actually building dugouts at that northern end for the MLB baseball games next year. Not sure whether they're intended as permanent features, or whether they intend to fill them in as seating after those events...

The ground extension was always on the cards. They are lengthening the ground at the Northern end stand, then to account for the weird shape will be slightly rotating the playing surface (for aussie rules) and shaving off part of the wing to retain an oval shape.

Heard rumors that Sydney vs. Hawthorn will be moved to the SCG due to a NRL clash

They did the same thing when the Trumper Stand was built, which lengthened it by 3m at that end. Check it out on Google Maps with the slightly odd shape now. The problem will be how they incorporate it with the Members Stand. For the southern end, the cut back started 3 bays around in the Brewongle Stand.

You know, I'm starting to get a serious man crush on the SCG. Beautiful heritage stands, and a pretty good rake on the new stands. Not much of a cricket ground any more but a seriously good AFL ground.

Bring on getting rid of the Bill O'Reilly stand after the ICC world cup and replacing it with an extension of the Victor Trumper stand.

Yeah, I would have thought that was the obvious next step (and it appears to be included in the artist's impressions of a 'finished' redeveloped SCG), but in all their promo stuff, the Trust keeps talking about a redeveloped Churchill and Brewongle stands (in the same style as the new Noble and Bradman Stands).

Of course, none of it's funded yet, so it's all wishful thinking at the moment.
