Sad, pathetic me went on nearmap to see if I could find a dedicated bocce space in the precinct. For the record, I couldn't.

The WACA Ground? I imagine CA and the WACA would have a few minor issues with soccer being played on the square of an international cricket venue.

Re: 31,000 for MES
Glory have played there in the past. IIRC the first time they hosted a finals match it was there and they filled it. But it would have been in March or even April and at about the same time that the WACA had installed the removable baseball diamond, so I'm guessing a removable pitch sqaure isn't out of the question here either.

What would a 'dedicated bocce space' look like?Jeffles wrote:Sad, pathetic me went on nearmap to see if I could find a dedicated bocce space in the precinct. For the record, I couldn't.

A full season is another issue entirely. Drop in pitches aren't that simple. You can't just yank it in and out on game day.Simmo79 wrote:Glory have played there in the past. How long does it take? And anyway I'd assume this would be a non-starter for the Glory given that the Warriors/BBL team would have dibs which would rule out huge tracts of potential bookingsTimbo wrote:A full season is another issue entirely. WACA is a diversionary tactic.
No space in the summer for a tenant at the WACA. Force were only looking at it because there season was late Summer- to early winter.
Burswood Dome is pretty much across the line as the venue for next year with artificial turf.

I just wish The Government or someone bought up the whole block that the nib stadium sits on and tennis club, and build a proper Rectangular stadium. Realign the ground. So much room to expand. Have pathways surrounding it. Restuarants and pubs incorporated into the stadium with Alfresco dining. etc...

I don't think a lack of land surrounding the stadium is any barrier to it's development. It is oddly aligned, but it's not like Hindmarsh where they can't build out because there's no space. There's room on all sides if they want it.

Except the Western side, because they Heritage listed that stand, which was a big mistake IMO.
