cam wrote::roll: Dan. Why don't you help out by forwarding material to me? Maybe if I ran this as a commercial site and made revenue from it, I could put more time and effort into the sites content. Fact is, I'm not. I run this site for my love of stadiums. So much of my time has gone into it, and it disappoints me when I get comments like yours. Luckily 99% of feedback I receive it positive.

Do you think the news content posted on this site is my point of view. Incorrect.

I never came across a good article promoting the good side of Lang Park to put on the site. Maybe if you did, and maybe found some good photos, you could forward them onto me?

Cam..

Please dont take my criticisms too much to heart.

Firstly, the forum needs more lively banter

Secondly,I genuinely believed that for some reason, you seemed a little negative about Suncorp. The fact you havent made one single remark about the venue, but posted a negative article gave me more reason to believe.Considering you had the time to post comments in this forum on Jason McArthy and other matters after the Suncorp opening,it then convinced me that you were just not interested in this venue, which I thought was a pity.If this impression was false, please accept my apologies.

As for being positive,I think Ive always supported your website from the very beginning.I know It costs time money and effort to do this, and we all appreciate what you do.I try and support it as much as I possibly can,and normally try and help out with articles from what I can find. Most of the time,I agree with you,but obviously,if I think you a being unfair,I will tell you.

I can only help you out as much as I can too, based on what I find.Remember,I also live here in Melbourne, and most down here wouldnt know Lang Park from Albert Park.

Anyway I think you know what I think about the work you do on this site.

Thanks Dan. The article has been added to the news. But seriously, when looking for articles, I had trouble finding any articles relating to the actual stadium (rather than the game itself). And there's been nothing of the stadium on Melbourne news.

It's not that I've been a bit negative about the stadium, it's just that I've been busy with other things. You would of noticed I haven't been posting on the forum much lately.

Look who has changed their tune concerning Sunsorp Stadium

Editorial: Second Sitting Suits Stadium

After the less than auspicious experience at the June 1 christening of the revamped Suncorp-Metway Stadium, State of Origin presented a painless, enjoyable experience.

Despite again being on the wrong end of the scoreboard, the Stadium's handling of its first full capacity crowd during peak hour seems to have gone almost completely without a hitch - although this time we took the safe option of avoiding train travel altogether.

Lord Mayor Jim Soorley comes under a lot of criticism - most of it deserved - but the efforts he and the State Government went to in developing the South-East Busway should be congratulated.

After completing a day's work at Sunnybank, it was a short drive to Holland Park to pick up the rest of the troupe and a courteous father-in-law to drop us off at Holland Park West Busway station. Within 10 minutes a bus arrived which, although full, had enough room to accommodate us.

Within 20 minutes we were stepping off at the Suncorp-Metway Stadium bus tunnel. Already that's a massive improvement on the 15 minute train trip from Indooroopilly to Milton, combined with the 20 minute walk to the ground.

After the game, we were back at Indooroopilly less than two hours after full time - despite having to drive across town as part of the process. After negotiating the testing walk amongst understandably congested plaza areas from the northern end of the ground to the southern end bus tunnel - a task that took half an hour in itself - we were amazed to literally walk down to the bus station and step onto a bus.

20 minutes later - less than 45 minutes after full time - we were back at Holland Park.

Let this be a lesson to all who visit the ground - avoid train transport, particularly out of Milton Station, if you can absolutely avoid it! The Milton Railway Station walkway was visibly chockers, a repeat of the June 1 disaster, as we strolled down to the bus station. Clearly the government will have to review the status of Milton Station, and hopefully within the next few years sanity will prevail and it will be rebuilt 500 metres up the road directly opposite the stadium itself.

Combine it with a much improved atmosphere borne out of a combination of a more football-focussed patronage, some very well lubricated, and one of the most enthralling games of football in a long time, and you've got a near perfect sporting experience.

So, I hereby stand corrected on my first observations of the ground. Suncorp-Metway Stadium is without doubt the best sporting venue I have attended...

...but I still believe it should've been built at the RNA Showgrounds!

The only problem yet to be resolved is our flags situation, however after cordial discussions with the Broncos and Stadium Management, it looks like a solution will be reached well and truly before the Sydney Roosters match on Friday June 27.

JEFF'S SECTION: He's still against train travel. Is it really that bad. Or should it be expected for an event that draws 50,000+.

In other news, Justin Hodges is contemplating lega action after suffering a
knee injury that put him out for the season on Wednesday night. Apparently the sandy surface may be to blame. I don't know about this. The surface did look better and the other players said it was fine if not a little slow. It was an nfortunate injury and I think looking at it on camera he would've suffered it no matter where he was playing. It was the way he turned and landed. He's a dope if he sues.
