I just can't believe it! l taught at the Weir School next door in the mid eighties.Nothing but league and soccer.No one was ever interested in rules then. What a great addition to footy in that area .Well done .Mike Howard .Brisbane.

Tony Ireland Stadium is a sort of "unesasery" stadium if they want to hold AFL games there.
If they want a world class stadium to host AFL games the would have built a bigger stadium or upgrade it ALOT!!
I saw the stadium being built and it is right next to Townsville's main road connecting The twin citys.
I did not see much parking and the grass was much greener.
AFL needs a bigger stadium than that to even think about making a team for The AFL
