Opened on 29 June 2004, the Gold Coast Convention Centre is one of Australia's best convention and exhibition centre's. The main arena has seating for 5269 fans for sporting events such as Basketball and Tennis. Every seat in the venue is on top of the action.
Although the only sporting events the venue has hosted in its short history is boxing and indoor rodeo, there's much more to come with the announcement of a new Gold Coast team in the National Basketball League. The new club enters the NBL for the 2007/08 season and will play all home games at the venue.
The Gold Coast Convention Centre is located next to Conrad Jupiters (Casino & Hotel) and is connected by a 270 metre covered walkway. The centre of the Gold Coast, Surfers Paradise, is just a 5 minute drive from the venue, while the Airport is about a 20 minute drive.
