Adelaide Riverbank Arena

Proposed Venue

Adelaide Riverbank Arena is a proposed 15,000-capacity multi-purpose indoor arena on the edge of Adelaide's CBD. Announced in March 2021, the facility would cost $700 million to construct and would replace the ageing Adelaide Entertainment Centre. It would host basketball, netball, concerts and other major indoor events.

Original concept plans announced in September 2020 also allowed the facility to host rectangular sports such as soccer and rugby league with a capacity of 22,000. The football pitch would rise up to cover the arena and reveal a lower bowl, able to host sports such as basketball and netball with a capacity of 15,000. Arena-style concerts will be able to attract up to 30,000 fans. However, this proposal was dumped due to excessive costs - refer to photos below.
