Mars Stadium (formerly Eureka Stadium) is located in Ballarat - one of Victoria's largest regional cities. Stage one of the venue's redevelopment was completed in late June 2017 at a cost of $15m. The ground has been transformed with construction of a new 5,000-seat grandstand, 50sqm video scoreboard, new lighting and resurfacing of the playing surface which is now the same dimensions as Etihad Stadium. It hosted its first AFL match for premiership points in August 2017 and continues to host two Western Bulldogs home games per year. New A-League club Western United will also play some home matches at the venue until their new stadium is built.
