Tabcorp Park Menangle
The Menangle Park Paceway, commercially known as Tabcorp Park Menangle, is a harness racing facility located in Sydney's southwest. The venue serves as Sydney's premier trotting track, after NSW Harness Racing Club (now branded as Club Menangle) moved all its operations to the Menangle Park following the closure of Harold Park in December 2010. Facilities include three grandstands with ample spectator seating, dining, function and gaming facilities.
Horse racing at the site dates back to 1914, with the first official race meeting (gallops) held there on August 6. After extensive work and remodelling in 1953, the NSW Trotting Club opened racing on 26 September at its new 'Out of Town' track, with 5,000 attended the opening of the new trotting track. Night racing was introduced a decade later in 1964. Works commenced to rebuild and change the existing Menangle Park track from the 800-metre circuit to a new state-of-the-art 1400-metre complex in 2000, and in June 2008 after a major facelift, the Menangle Park 1400-metre track was officially opened with a crowd of 8,000 on hand. Major extensions to the club at the licensed premises previously known as the Horse and Jockey Inn adjacent to the paceway opened in September 2019.
