World Stadium Congress heads online in 2020

Having staged the World Stadiums Congress over 11 years in Europe, Qatar, Singapore and Australia, the event is going virtual in 2020 to reach its biggest audience yet.

To be held as a three-part series, the 2020 Congress will feature a world class line-up of experts discussing the future of efficiency, sustainability, profitability and experience in stadiums.

The three parts of the Congress will consist of: 

  • Part 1: Stadium Design & Development on 1st July 2020.
  • Part 2: Smart Stadiums & Digital Fan Experience on 8th July 2020 and
  • Part 3: Stadium Security, Health & Safety on 15th July 2020.

“With the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games postponed, along with various sporting seasons either cancelled or on standby, stadium owners and operators remain focused on what the post-COVID-19 era will look like when re-engaging fans back into the stands.

“In light of the pandemic forcing global shut downs on sports and live events, we know that stadium owners/operators will be re-evaluating their priorities to ensure their stadiums can remain operational post-shutdown.

The first series will look at the latest trends and innovations on recent and upcoming projects. This will include everything from sustainability through design along with project redesigns that can drive enhance fan experiences for multi-purpose venues.

Part 2: Smart Stadiums & Digital Fan Experiences - 8th July 2020
The second series will delve into Smart Stadiums & Digital Engagement strategies, looking at the latest trends and innovations across the globe. This will include everything from utilising data and fan intelligence to driving smarter sustainable stadium operations.

Case studies: Los Angeles Football Club, Johan Cruijff Arena Amsterdam, Australian Olympic Committee

Part 3: Security, Health & Safety - 15th July 2020
The final series will delve into Stadium Security, Health & Safety strategies and the different methods stadium owners and operators can put in place to ensure fans feel safe within their venues.
