Healthway renews Motorplex deal

The Western Australian State Government's health promotion body, Healthway, has renewed its sponsorship of the Perth-based Quit Motorplex at Kwinana Beach for a further three years and will continue to promote its 'Quit' brand via the naming rights association.

Healthway has been a major supporter of speedway and drag racing since the mid 1980's and strengthened its association when the two motor sports joined forces and developed the Kwinana Beach multi-purpose venue in 2000.

Kevin Prendergast, general manager of Quit Motorplex, told On Sport that the first main focus of the new agreement will be to extend the existing smoke free areas, which he estimated to be approximately 20-40% of the outdoor seating.

All indoor corporate areas and seating are already non-smoking.  Prendergast also said that the exposure created by the sponsorship has worked well for all parties involved and that they are continuing to refine and improve their sponsorship delivery.

He added that they believe it is important to develop policies that are both socially responsible and contribute to the positive image of the sport.
