Bankwest Stadium is now 92% complete and the 30,000-capacity stadium will host its first event in under 80 days.

The Parramatta Eels will host the Wests Tigers in their traditional Easter Monday game on 22 April – the first event to be held at the new stadium, built on the site of the old Parramatta Stadium.

80% of the 30,000 seats have now been installed, as has the two video screens, while installation of the high-tech playing surface system is now underway.

Once construction is finished, the stadium will be prepared for events with a large-scale operation taking place to deliver and install all the furniture, fittings, equipment and technology required to operate the venue.

Around 26,000 cubic metres of concrete and 4500 tonnes of steel have gone into shaping the new beating heart of Parramatta.

Construction of the new $360 million stadium is on track to be complete by the end of March, with commissioning and testing to follow shortly after.

The Parramatta Eels (NRL) and Western Sydney Wanderers (A-League) will be the main anchor tenants of the new stadium.

The Wests Tigers will also play three home games at the venue, as will the NSW Waratahs, while the Wanderers take on English club Leeds United in July. The Rugby League 9s will also be held at Bankwest Stadium in October. View all events >
