I've really enjoyed the A-League games, including the Heart v Mariners game.

sh*t its hard watching the a-league Just watching the ccm v adl game now , it's the first a-league game I've watched this season and it's like watching local park teams go at each other?is it always like this?

When I watch the AFL it's ful of people who don't know how to mark up, don't know how to catch the ball and can't kick straight. Is it always like that?

It's more a cultural thing with how Australians play the game, a better indicator would be the leagues in South Africa and Denmark.

Won the League in 2008. Oh, and the Pre-Season Challenge Cup in 2006, but that really doesn't count.

Cliver Palmer: misunderstood victim of the FFA or clueless CUB wankstain?

If he doesn't like soccer, why is he paying for it? I don't think he believes the sport is a "joke". I think he's just got the shits with the FFA.

Did he think he could make a success of GCU without non-matchday investment? Maybe. Misguided if he expected people to be grateful for the investment alone and ergo turn up in droves. The GC is one of the most difficult markets to crack. Spectators there are very flaky.

If he likes RL so much, why not put money into an NRL club? I reckon NRL clubs have probably tried moving for a silent investment that Palmer is not interested in. Egomaniacs like Michael Searle wouldn't want a blow-in like Plamer taking all the credit, even if they could use him.

He can f**k off back to Tattooine is far as I care. He was always a RL man but got apparently got involved with the A-League to further his mining connections in Asia. That's the wrong motivation for starting a club from scratch. It would work if you wanted to be a silent investor in a stronger, more established club so you can swan around with the team on champions league away games. His way of doing things is far too disruptive for a football club and a football league. If he wants to get involved in the NRL, the indy commission would be wise to give him a wide(r) berth.

Couldn't he have just been a major sponsor? It would have achieved the same outcomes for less outlay. But where do they go? It would be a blow to go down to 9 teams and a mistake to fast track a replacement.

Could the FFA get a south island team out of Dunedin. or are they going to revive a tassie / woolongong / canberra option?

Queenslanders are too obsesed with League in my ming....unless the FFA get on the SOO band wagon...its done great things for League and it is possibly somthing they could get on to FTA. they could get a round robin state by state smack down going.

It's about control, not money. If it was about money then they wouldn't even consider owning a team in the first place.

It's an incredible failure on his part. Why control something you're no good at when you'd look better funding something left to the professionals. I saw FFQ quoted saying they accept some blame for not promoting the club enough. Don't know what that means.
