Can't comment. It's an operational matter.

Nope.

There's a sustained effort on social media at characterising him as such. Started on day 1. Very vocal minority, and all it does is show the character of the belligerents.

He's not the worst ever (not sure who is, FWIW), but he's showing that as Prime Minister he makes a very good Opposition Leader.

Context is a big factor. You could clearly nominate Gillard as the worst, however nobody looks pretty in the spectre of a hung parliament.

You could nominate PMs deposed by their own parties mid term, as it's a pretty firm measure of leadership.

Whitlam would get a nomination for getting fired so well that the constitution got dragged in to the sh*t fest.

You could go far back to war time PMs, and again it would be highly contextual. How badly do you judge PMs who leveraged our security to a "super" power proven piss weak a matter of years later?

The more you probe the question the more you understand you can't compare.

Fuckit, Edmond Barton. On the basis that it was all new and sh*t.

Btw, I strongly suggest the critics follow the example of our opposition in showing bipartisan support for Abbott/Bishop in pursuing Russia over MH17. Lest you consign yourself to some marxist lunatic fringe that embarrasses civilization.

He's certainly had his best moments with the current disaster, but most leaders do.

And Simmo, don't blame you with the Australian public service's clamp down on dissent.

That's been overblown. It was a draft doc that would only have applied to PM&C staff. AFAIK it's been killed off

What are you're views on Bill Shorten?

I'm not sure if he's more or less sound bite orientated than Abbott.
