The gloves are well and truly off.

Bob Carr blaming everyone else, especially those that resisted privatisation.
Paul Keating blames John Robertson
Eddie Obeid blaming others.
Frank Sartor having a go at Eddie Obeid
Morris Iemma having a go at the machine
Andrew West of the SMH reminds people not to forget to have a go at Bob Carr

Gillard announcing a review of Horizontal Fiscal Equalisation.

Michael Sutchbury comments about it below and puts WA in context.

Don't know whether it will win her seats in WA. Brand and Perth have become more marginal over the economic boom and Freo is going towards the hard left.

The West journo said that WA would vote to seperate if Gillard offered us a referendum at this point of time. Not really sure about that TBH. But I suspect she realises that she has to spend a long visit here and continual visits, not just a one off visit to win votes...

He is not going to spend it on stadiums; he is not going to spend it in the areas that are generating the mining dollars for GST...what is that clown of a premier going to spend this potential windfall on?

Our stadium, our museum, our tramways are all being spent on the country bumpkins, who have all of 600,000 people.

Some good programs, but the whole thing is going to need to be canned in 5 years because there will be nothing left to spend money on in country towns.

Latest info I have is the new stand at NIB won't even have corporate facilities.

Way old news, but on election morning there was a pissed idiot who rolled out of Zanzibar or something and took it upon himself to help the Libs. He'd hand out for a little, and then he'd wander up and down taking other HTVs, scrunching them up, throwing them on the ground and spitting on them. At one point I had a word with a Lib campaigner saying that the bloke wasn't really helping them and was a nuisance and asked if he might have a word.

Pissed idiot didn't particularly take kindly to the advice and got a little agro. I wandered over to keep an eye on things as did a Greens woman. Something was said that fired up the pissed idiot because he grabbed the Lib by the throat. I stepped in and told the idiot that he'd do well to bugger off and do something else with his day, and was offered a broken nose for my trouble which I politely but firmly declined.

Wackiest thing that I've ever had at a booth.

Who? BOF? He'll get shut down by Gillard today on the NW rail link. May not be so nice after that.

She'll be a fool if she does that. Did she not take notice of the swing to the Coalition in NSW? he campaigned very strongly and publically on ditching the Epping-Parra link in favour of the NW line.

Gillard really does seem to be doing everything possible to lose the next Federal election.

Not really. She's walking both sides of the street. Trying to maintain the lefty vote that's being lost to the greens, but pitching directly at conservatives. It's car accident fascinating.

Plenty of versions of this video going around, but the Czechs reported it best.
