Just imagine it's still the 1880's where Victorian Rules had a presence in NZ. Therefore I deem NZ eligible to compete but Grandmaster Yob has the final say.

If they're in prepare for total Kiwi domination of this competition.

Qld's in!!
Teacher in legal limbo

By Tony Keim

May 09, 2007 12:00am
Article from: The Courier-Mail

A BRISBANE magistrate yesterday ordered police hand over crucial documents to the defence lawyer of a female high school teacher on charges of having sex with a student.

The teacher, who cannot be identified unless she is ordered to stand trial, has been left in legal limbo for almost 14 months.

She has been suspended from teaching at any school since police raided her Boronia Heights home, 30km south of Brisbane, and seized items, including computer equipment, on March 13 last year.

Police were also ordered yesterday to hand over numerous documents applied for under court subpoena almost six months ago by lawyers for the teacher, 26, facing almost 230 counts of sexually abusing a student over a two-year period.

The teacher has yet to enter a plea to 229 counts of indecently assaulting a girl in her care, with police yet to provide defence lawyers with the entire case against the woman.

A committal hearing has already heard evidence the teacher was seen hugging, kissing, fondling and having oral sex with the girl, then aged between 14 and 16, and plying her with liquor.

Magistrate Basil Gribbin has adjourned the committal hearing until June 5.
So Qlds first members of the squad are Female teacher, 26 and, School Girl 14-16. They dont offer much more to the team than to distract the opposition.

Friend's murder 'just felt right'
You can depend on WA for a spirited performance - they dig deep when required.

BTW I failed to address WA in the competition rules, so I will do so now. Although WA is not a state of Australia, I am willing to bend the rules to allow them to compete. This will be called the W-A-ian Carey Rule.

Man charged over beheading

May 9, 2007 - 2:39PM

A 41-year-old man has been charged with murder over the decapitation of an elderly war veteran in the NSW New England region earlier this year, police say.

The body of Mark Hutchinson, 82, was found in the backyard of his Armidale home by a family member on January 13.

His head had been severed from his body.

The 41-year-old Tenterfield man was arrested at a Tamworth home about 10.30am today (AEST) and later charged with murder.

He was refused bail to appear before Tamworth Local Court later today.

The slaying of Mr Hutchinson shocked his local community, who described him as a quiet man, well known for his work in the local RSL and for helping Legacy war widows.

The former soldier served as an artillery gunner in Papua New Guinea and Borneo during World War II.

He had lived alone in his Markham Street home since 1985.

Immediately after the killing, detectives were baffled about a motive for Mr Hutchinson's murder, saying robbery was unlikely.
Based purely on skills you'd have to include Man, 41 in the squad - his execution is perfect. However NSW will need a good coach to keep him in line otherwise he could lose his head.

'like murderers' - policeNicole Cox

May 19, 2007 08:00am

SIX hooligans, including a drunken youth caught speeding excessively with four other teenagers in the car, have had their cars impounded in the latest blitz on hoons on WA's roads.

Police likened their behaviour to that of murderers on the roads.

A 17-year-old, who did not have a driver's licence, was stopped on Old Coast Rd, Halls Head, at 10.30pm on Friday, when police clocked him doing 121km/h in a 70km/h zone.

The Furnissdale youth has been charged with reckless driving, failing to have a driver's licence and driving with a blood-alcohol content exceeding 0.05. He will appear in Mandurah Children's Court tomorrow.

Another driver, a 21-year-old, was caught speeding on Kwinana Freeway at 9pm travelling at 198km/h in a 100km/h zone.

The Safety Bay man will be charged by summons with reckless driving and his car was seized for exceeding the speed limit by more than 45km/h.

Police also seized cars in Port Hedland and Morley, impounding them for 48 hours.
Senior police yesterday were alarmed and outraged at the hoons' blatant disregard for the law.

Peel Supt David Parkinson likened their behaviour as "akin to murderers''.

Supt Parkinson said statistics and the road toll, which was now 99, showed that a review of penalties and impound times was needed.

He said the impounding of six cars in one night beggared belief.

"This makes me wonder whether we are winning the war,'' Supt Parkinson said.

"We're out there and we're catching them, but my biggest concern is that it's becoming a game. If it is a game, it's a lethal game and we need to see the penalties reflect that.

"They are either going to kill themselves or they're going to kill someone else.

"They are dicing with death. They are dicing with their own lives, but more importantly the lives of others.

"We've got to sit down, evaluate it and implement something that is a deterrent for these kids.''
Assistant Commissioner John McRoberts said there had been at least 20 vehicles seized for exceeding the speed by more than 45km/h since tougher hoon laws came into force on May 1.

"Police welcome the introduction of the tough hoon legislation provisions,'' Mr McRoberts said.

"We are serious about addressing driver behaviour, particularly those who drive at speeds significantly over the posted limit.''

Police Minister John Kobelke said: "Police will continue to impound hoon's vehicles until they get the message that our community does not want them endangering the lives of road users with their irresponsible and out-of-control behaviour.''

Mr Kobelke said the impact of the amended laws, which allowed the public to dob-in hoons with photographic and video evidence, would be reviewed whenever changes were needed.

Manslaughter charges laid after fatal drag race

An 18-year-old youth appeared in Tauranga District Court this morning charged with manslaughter and was remanded on bail to reappear on Monday.

He was granted interim name suppression.

A man acting as the "starter" for a drag race in Mount Maunganui this morning died when a car ploughed into him at high speed.

Police say a large crowd of boy racers had gathered at Aviation Ave - an industrial area near Tauranga Airport - and were racing one another when the 20-year-old was killed about 1am.

Tauranga CIB head Detective Sergeant Greg Turner said the charge reflected the fact that today's death appeared to have been an accident, rather than a deliberate attempt to kill someone.

Police are still seeking the driver of a second vehicle which was believed to have been involved in the fatal race.

Mr Turner said police were called to the scene minutes after the man was killed.

He said it appeared the victim, who was one of the race starters, died instantly from multiple injuries, although police hope to conduct a post- mortem examination this afternoon.

"It's a shocking, tragic death that was very preventable.

"It is very disappointing that a young person's life has been lost in these circumstances, when police, council and local businesses have put considerable resources into trying to prevent the boy racing problem in recent years."

Mr Turner said when police first arrived on the scene there were about 20 cars and 50 people there but there was no doubt others left before police arrived.

"We are still trying to confirm the exact numbers of people who congregated in the area overnight, and piece together exactly how this tragedy unfolded."

Mr Turner said police had already spoken to a number of witnesses but were keen to speak to everyone who was present at the event.

Pair charged over high school sex offences
22nd May 2007, 12:30 WST

A Balcatta couple charged with a combined 41 sex offences at a high school in WA's south-west have today been granted bail in Perth Magistrate's Court.

The pair, a 32-year-old man and a 21-year-old woman, were not required to enter a plea.

The court was told the man was the coach of a soccer team at the school where the alleged incidents occurred.

Police claim the woman was in a de-facto relationship with the man at the time of the alleged offences.

The man has been charged with 37 of the sex offences, which include 13 counts of sexual penetration of a child under 16 years of age and 24 counts of sexual penetration of a child aged 16 years or over.

The woman has been charged with two counts of encouraging a child aged between 13 and 16 to engage in sexual behaviour and two counts of sexual penetration of a child aged between 13 and 16.

Both face a further charge of attempting to pervert the course of justice and the woman is also accused of providing a false address to police.

The couple will re-appear in the Perth Magistrate's Court on August 1.
