Mark Webber is on the place you want to be on the Monaco grid. He's got his 2nd pole in a row and 4th of his career. Provided he gets a good start and stays ahead of Kubica (Renault) and his team mate and leads the field into Sainte Devote, he could be a back to back winner in 2010. Finally in a winning car and he's finally showing the promise everyone's known about for over 15 years.

my fingers are crossed for him the issue is going to be all the mobile speedhumps of Lotus Hispania and Virgin racing. The blue flag guys are going to be waving constantly and there will be a few pace cars deployed to allow them to mop up the mess of the lesser drivers. Go Websie.

Could the safety cars have actually helped him (by preventing him tripping over the backmarkers)?

The only controversy from the race is Schumacher's last corner pass on Fernando Alonso's Ferrari. Schumi has been penalised 20 seconds dropping him from 6th over the line to 12th. Mercedes are appealing but its clearly in the rules (Rule No. 40.13 apparently) that what he did was illegal. Shock horror Damon Hill (ex-driver who was only 1 or 4 stewards for the meeting) is being blamed by Schumacher/Mercedes/Brawn fans for the penalty when in fact the team have no one to blame but themselves. Typically, these same fans bleating about how unfair it is to penalise Schumi are also saying its an FIA/Ferrari conspiracy as ex Ferrari boss Jean Todt is the head of the FIA who control motor sport at that level, so it seems they are just looking for someone to blame other than the team and driver who actually got it wrong.

Well done to Mark Webber. First Aussie since Sir Jack Brabham back in 1959 to win in Monaco. Back in 59, Black Jack (not yet a Sir) also went on to win his 1st World Drivers' Championship. Lets hope MW can do the same in 2010. He's got the car to do it. But does he have what it takes?? I think he does, but time will tell.

I was just about to get right back in to this sport until I saw the new engine specs for 2014 onward. 6 cylinder 1.6L engines? Half the size of a holden dunnydoor. SOFT.

The old turbo days the engines were smaller......I reckon any Holden driver would have a rig that puts out as much grunt a any F1 car, the current V8 engine is half the size of any normal V8.
