Much rain about in the City of Bikies that week end? Looked so on the AFL telecast.

If so those are pretty reasonable numbers. Usually all games go sub 2k.

I wonder where the average 4,000 fans that Stephen Trigg and the Crows promised would attend Crows SANFL matches are? Fact is that most older Crows fans still support another SANFL team and have done for longer than the Crows have been around, and the younger ones couldn't give a rats arse about the SANFL side unless one of the big names (like Tex Walker) is coming back from injury through the local league.

Put the likes of Walker or Patrick Dangerfield in the SANFL side and they would draw a good crowd. Other than that.....forget it, no one is interested. From what I've seen myself and from what I've heard, at least 90% of the crowds at Crows SANFL games have been supporters of whichever SANFL club they're playing that week (other than their game against Glenelg when Walker made his comeback from his knee injury).

The other issue is money. While its relatively cheap to attend an SANFL game (going to a game at my local ground, Hickenbotham Oval, would probably cost me around $20 for the day including food and drink), most will only be able to afford to go to the Crows AFL games at the Adelaide Oval. With what you spend going to an AFL game, especially if you go as a family, attending games in both leagues is an expense most don't need and won't bother with.

I don't think any of the existing clubs would've supported being gutted and converted to a reserves club for the Cows. For Port Adelaide this wasn't an issue - same club as always.

I can't see many negatives here. The Cows play all their fixtures away so all the revenue goes to the real clubs, and the league picks up an extra fixture per week that was sitting idle on a bye. Frankly the only problem I see is it all happened after Gary Macintosh retired.

Yeah even as a Westies fan I would have loved to see Macca run through a few of the Crows SANFL players ;)

Westies player getting a pretty decent hit on a Sturt fan. Through a fence as well. (vid included):

Went to the 2014 SANFL Grand Final yesterday with Egan and U Reds. Had a great day out and saw a brilliant game of football even though I don't support either Norwood or the Port Power reserves (masquerading as the Port Magpies). Norwood won their third straight premiership with a 4 point win in front of 38,644 fans, the biggest GF crowd since 1999 (coincidentally, that was Port vs Norwood as well, but Port won that day).

It's a decent crowd considering 15,000 port fans were in Melbourne.

You guys play WA at Lathlain Park this year...

Should be a good game, but wish it had been a country road trip.
