Dank guilty on trafficking all the drugs besides tb4 to Essendon. Tribunal waits until 4 days before ASADA's appeal window closes - on a week end - to announce its decision.

The AFL wants this to FOAD. It's shameless.

This is a really good read on the standard of the proof that the AFL Doping Tribunal should (and may not have correctly) applied:

It would go a long way to explaining why ASADA has handed the brief over to WADA to take to the CAS instead of appealing back to an AFL body:

Briginshaw = comfortable satisfaction standard increases based upon the importance of the outcome.

Briginshaw in a bogan foodeeee tribunal = foodeee is rool important, so comfortable satisfaction magically leaps above BRD and only a DNA test from an epithelial cell of a finger print will suffice.

Good on ASADA for skipping this bogan game's mickey mouse tribunal.

I have a strong suspicion that if/when we get to read the AFL tribunal's decision the facts that they found could lead somone to reach a comfortable satisfcation that Essendon doped and doped hard.

We've observed the results so far of what happens when Hird and Co are in a real court.

The CAS isn't quite a court, but I'm confident they'd be quite f***ed in it.

WADA's taking the Essendon players to the CAS.

http://www.theaustralian.com.au/sport/a ... 7351248989" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

In practice this isn't really an appeal as such, but in terms of the chronology it sits in the part where an appeal would.

I'm expecting a different result this time around. Still think the players should be on charges of aggravated doping too

The relevant points re CAS v Tribunal

The whole case is heard, new evidence is permitted, the CAS does not/can not care what happened in the tribunal.
Briginshaw is out the window, it's now balance of probability baby.
No appeal rights
(I think) the CAS/WADA has another crack at subpoena Alavi/Charter to attend
The CAS isn't a court, but it quacks like one. Don't perjure yourself here.
Essendon is no longer the big fish in Melbourne, but the little fishy in World

In other news, the CAS goofed up and released the full list of 34 players. I won't repeat the list here, but it can be found online. What I will say though is Kyle Reimers - the bloke who had the sh*t bullied out of him on national radio for saying the programme was "on the edge" - didn't get an IR. Nor did the underage Joe Daniher (thank god).

Get a load of Hird's latest:

Also note the 'just told a porker' nod of the head right at the end.

What a piece of work this bloke is.

^^page 21-23. Read that and just laugh at the tribunal verdict.

And around page 24 is when you want to throw up your lunch.

Page 29 is the fabled spreadsheet - which was forensically retrieved by Deloittes. Hello Hirdy.

Dank's f***ed, surely Hird goes down, but EFC has to be in enormous trouble too.

FOI: Givney email re: Dank at Cronulla:

Another edition of "things Essendon know if they bothered with a reference check"

Make sure you've finished chewing/swallowing when you read.

Hi Flanno,
I know you are busy with footy stuff so have sent my thoughts via email . Obviously, if you need me I have my mobile at all times.

My idea over the past many years is that the medical team is best 'seen and not heard'. ie be on hand to treat the boys and their families, and let the footy people do the important stuff.

Until now.

I spoke to Steve Danks last night. He said he was shocked that I had any concerns about his activities, assured me that he held the medical profession in the highest regard, and blamed Konrad (Cronulla Sharks physiotherapist) for not telling me what was going on .

The basic result of our talk was...

He wasn't in a position to tell me at the time what was in the injections the players have been getting.
The person doing the injecting wasn't medically trained but was part of his 'team'
He was unaware of any allergies, medical problems etc. of any players being injected
He couldn't tell me what he would do if a player got an allergic reaction at the time of an injection
Told me the tablets he gave the boys after the game were Mersyndol Forte
He wished to sit down with me and discuss it all face to face.

I then spoke to Martin Rafferty (International Rugby Board chief medical officer Martin Raftery, a former Cronulla player and St George team doctor) who has had dealings in the past. He described him as XXX Redacted XXX destructive'. He said he had been at Dragons/Souths/Para/Manly and has been asked to move on from all these places. He was so concerned that he said he wanted to speak to you about it - his mobile number is XXX Redacted XXX.

I also spoke to XXX Redacted XXX. He said there is a rumour around the NRL that the Sharks are being injected with 'RP6'. This is a pre-cursor for Growth-Hormone that helps with fat loss and recovery in Athletes!!!!!!

Time for this all to stop !!

You can't keep a secret in footy
We will get asked sooner or later and the last thing the Sharks need is another sh*t headline.
Konrad overheard plans of giving Actovegin some time this week - that is Calves Blood Extract and can't be allowed to happen!

Sorry for the rant, but I was up all night thinking of how best to go about this. Please ring Rafferty for an outside opinion, and then we can stop this madness and get back to footy.
