Re: The ACC nukes Australian sport
ASADA needed the testimony of Dank, Charter and Alavi to demonstrate the TB4 made it into the arms of the Dons players. Those witnesses dropped out of the AFL process, which they couldn't do in proper civil or criminal proceedings. Essendon got lucky. They're not innocent. Let's see how other proceedings go

Re: The ACC nukes Australian sport
Need WADA to take this straight to CAS to get a just result but my understanding is that ASAGA have to appeal to the AFL tribunal first.
Can't see that happening with the weak circumstantial case they have. Missing records, witnesses not compelled to testify and all that...
Love to see Dank forced to produce his supposed records... the one's he claims he has now but didn't have in a stat dec earlier.

The lack of records never passed the life skills test. Bullshit there were no records. There should be 4 sets of records - what was used, what was sold, the money, the inventory.
Essendon is simply irrelevant in sport now. Cheats forever.

This is what worries me - that once swept under the rug the code will find a way to translate these events in to a football rivalry. This isn't a football rivalry, it's a governance failing and it's corrupt.dibo wrote:Sooooo glad the Swans woke up in the 4th and ran them down like the dogs they are.
Honestly just f**k this code, it's not sport anymore.

That's outrageously corrupt and a criminal offence had it happened in relation to real proceedings.RobertHeatleyStand wrote:Witness tampering shall now be referred to as "brokered a peace deal"

If I were a director or senior staff member of EFC, I'd be more than a little nervous. The supplement program could've blown the business to smithereens. It exposed the club to enormous (possibly existential) risk.
As a membership-based company limited by guarantee, the directors of EFC have certain fiduciary duties, the proper exercise (or failure to exercise) of same could be a matter of interest to ASIC?
Their Annual Report shows that they have annual revenues of $61m and members' equity of $38m so the failure of directors and senior management to ensure that there was nothing done that posed a material risk to the core business of the club is surely pretty serious.

Don't you dare use the c word. Aussies don't cheat, China peoples do. Aussies aren't corrupt, those Afghanistanis are corrupt. Everything in Australia is better at everything.Simmo79 wrote:That's outrageously corrupt and a criminal offence had it happened in relation to real proceedings.RobertHeatleyStand wrote:Witness tampering shall now be referred to as "brokered a peace deal"

While we're laughing at how corrupt and fake the AFL is:
Remember Liz Lukin?

Look where she ended up...In legal correspondence between the parties and a sworn affidavit tendered yesterday as evidence, Robinson’s solicitors refer to an account of a high-level club meeting in March last year provided by Suki Hobson, a strength coach who worked with Robinson at both Geelong and Essendon.
According to Hobson’s deposition, Ms Lukin at a meeting attended by Evans, former Essendon chief executive Ian Robson and football department staff, discussed “going with’’ the rogue operators strategy to limit the fallout from the scandal. Hobson recalled the following exchange.
Hobson: “So aren’t we concerned with what actually happened?’’
Lukin: “No, it won’t help us moving forward.’’

THE woman who ran Essendon’s PR at the start of the drugs scandal has been appointed the AFL’s head of corporate affairs.

Re: The ACC nukes Australian sport
This would be tragic if I were still a Crows fan, but now it's filed away in the laugh column.
You know the funny thing about the tribunal verdict?
They still haven't handed down the verdict on the "support person/staff member" who was charged along side the players.
You'd understand why. It wouldn't have gone down too well finding 34 players innocent of being injected with PED by Support Person, but Support person found guilty of injecting 34 players with PED.
You just gotta hand it to these Sports Entertainment guys - bloody good show.

So nobody knew anything but the Doc? I don't think that's the last we'll hear of this somehow...
